Is the free plan actually free forever?
Yes — one digital card, one email signature, and the "Verified in Good Standing" badge, free for as long as you want. The only tradeoff is a small "Powered by LexCard" link, and that disappears automatically the moment you move to any paid plan.
What does the verified badge actually check, and how often?
Before we check your standing, we first confirm your identity with a quick ID and selfie verification, powered by Stripe — so the badge reflects a real, verified person, not just a bar number anyone could type in. We check your bar or licence number against your regulator's own public register (your law society or bar association, depending on jurisdiction) and date-stamp the result on your card. Checks run periodically — generally monthly — by a member of our team, not through a live connection to the regulator, so a change in your standing between checks won't show up instantly. Is the AI Concierge really talking to my prospective clients?
Yes, it's a real conversation — it answers questions, finds out what the visitor needs, and flags anything urgent. It's not legal advice and doesn't form an attorney-client relationship on its own; you stay responsible for reviewing what it says on your behalf and for your own regulator's rules on AI-assisted communication. Do I need my own Zapier account to connect to Clio?
Yes — LexCard doesn't have a direct integration with Clio Manage or any other practice-management tool, so you connect your own Zapier automation to your own Clio account, and that connection (and any Zapier plan cost) stays yours and under your control. To make that quick, we provide a ready-to-copy LexCard–Clio Zapier template and a step-by-step installation guide, so setup is mostly plugging in your own Clio connection rather than building a Zap from scratch.
Can I cancel anytime? Is there a refund if I've paid annually?
You can cancel anytime from your account settings or the Stripe customer portal, and you'll keep paid features until the end of the billing period you've already paid for. We don't refund partial periods, so if you're not sure yet, start monthly — annual just saves you two months once you know it's a fit.
What happens if I stop paying or downgrade?
Nothing gets deleted. Your cards drop back to Free-tier functionality — the AI Concierge, intake pipeline, document upload, and analytics pause — until you resume payment or downgrade on purpose. Your account and existing content stay put.
Is client and lead data stored securely?
Identity documents and other sensitive uploads are encrypted at rest. Verification screenshots aren't, since they only capture information your regulator already publishes. We never sell personal information or share it for advertising. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
How does firm pricing work — is it per seat?
It's priced by tier, not by seat within that tier: Solo is one card, Firm covers up to 5, Practice up to 15, and Enterprise includes 25 with a small per-card add-on beyond that. Every teammate still gets their own verified card, branded to look like one practice.
